Who actually waits this long

Nobody, for anything that stays on Robinhood Chain

Trading, minting, transferring between wallets, a token launch — all of it is done in 100 ms and that is genuinely enough. Everyone on the chain acts on the sequencer’s block, and the sequencer does not wait for Ethereum.

Anyone withdrawing to Ethereum

The Outbox on Ethereum will not release funds until the assertion covering the withdrawal has been confirmed, and it cannot be confirmed until this window elapses. That is the one place the number above is a wait somebody sits through.

So the window is not a criticism of the chain — it is what makes an optimistic rollup provable, and six days is the price of being able to challenge a fraud. The fault this site is about is narrower and worth stating exactly: sites built on this chain describe settlement as immediate and final, with no clearing window. There is a clearing window, it has a length, and the length is on this page.

Robinhood Chain

Ethereum

reading…

a block every 12 s

These step when a reading returns. They are not animated between polls, because a block number nobody read is not a block number — and this reading is 0s old.

The gap between the middle figure and the right one is 1 L1 block — how far behind Ethereum the sequencer’s view is. It is usually small, and it is not the settlement lag. Being in step with L1 is not the same as having been ratified by it, and conflating the two is the mistake this site was built to name.
